I arribem al final d’aquests dies especials de tribut a la ciutat de Nova Orleans, amb la imatge d’un dels edificis més bonics del barri francès. No recordo a quin carrer vaig fer la foto, suposo que a Bourbon street.

I ja que tots aquets dies he utilitzat el títol d’una cançó, res millor que transcriure’n la lletra:

Crec que un dels primers que la va interpretar va ser Louis Armstrong amb Billie Holiday, però un altre fill il·lustre de la ciutat, Harry Connick Jr, té una gran versió acompanyat de Dr. John. Però aquí podeu veure la primera:

I no podria deixar el tema sense recomanar alguna cosa de música. De fet, és tan amplia i variada la música de Nova Orleans que se’m fa molt difícil. Però hi ha una caixa que val la pena, perquè recull aquesta diversitat.

Es titula Doctors, Professors, Kings & Queens. The Big Ol' Box of New Orleans. Amb quatre CD i un excel·lent llibre, reuneix estils como el jazz, el soul, el funk, el rock, el rhythm & blues, el cajun i el blues, amb artistes com Fats Domino, Dr. John, Beausoleil, Neville Brothers, The Meters, Earl King, Johnny Adams, Jelly Roll Morton, Allen Toussaint, Professor Longhair i molts més.
